This is a huge restaurant brewery.  I probably had one of the best food items I’ve had at a brewery.  It’s always an added plus to consume something delicious to cleanse your palette between beer tastings.  And taste I did!  I had a flight to sample seven beers that they had on tap.  In addition to their regular IPA, they had a seasonal IPA which was quite hoppy.  If you are into these kinds of beers then this one will be a special treat if you’re lucky enough to be present when they have it on tap.  It appears than many of these types of breweries have a hard time getting their porters and stouts to have a full, rich flavor, but Southend served a terrific stout.

I always find that a blonde and red beer have the potential to be among my favorites to drink, but they can be hit and miss depending on the brewers.  Unfortunately, I was disappointed by both their red, and blonde beers.  I enjoyed how the beer almost felt separate from the restaurant despite just simply being placed in the back corner.  From there you can forget that you are even in a restaurant; especially with brew tanks in front and behind you at the bar.
