I was not a huge fan of The Brew Bus.  To be totally fair, much of my feelings have to do with my own beer snobbiness than it does with The Brew Bus.  In fact, I have never done one of The Brew Bus tours in which they take you from brewery to brewery.  In theory it sounds great and I can imagine tons of beer drinkers loving the concept of being driven around to breweries.  However, the fact that I am into beer and breweries more than the typical Brew Bus patron means that I would much rather visit breweries independently and pay as I go for the beers I choose rather than pay a much larger fee.  In fact, when I run my own brewery or bar crawls, I allow members to pay as they go and we stay at each brewery much longer.  Again, these are all my personal opinions and that doesn’t mean that The Brew Bus tours aren’t wonderful for some people.

This review is more for the actual brewery for The Brew Bus which is located in Tampa.  I was shocked that there was a physical brewery and optimistic that being in Tampa I would find different Beer Bus brews than what I have had in Miami.  Unfortunately, the majority of the beers on tap were the ones that I have already had in the past.  I aimed for a flight to sample the beers that I have not had a chance to try.  After being disappointed that there was no flight option, I then ordered three beers that I had never had by Brew Bus only to be told that one of them on the beer board was actually not being served.  Finally I was down to two beers to try.  Both were solid but nothing that rocked my world.

The brewery itself is pristine.  It was a polar opposite from so many breweries that have a warehouse no frills atmosphere.  There were plenty of tables and some comfy sofas too.
