The Bronx Brewery is another surprise brewery situated in an area you would never, ever imagine a brewery to be situated.  The brewery itself definitely has a chill vibe inside.  There were a few tables, spots at the bar, or you can bring some chairs up to some barrels that have been outfitted as tables.

I always jump at the chance for a flight so that I can explore as many different types of beers being offered by a brewery that is new to me.  Naturally I did the same here.  A pro of the flight was that whereas most flights are labeled with the beers name (at best), the Bronx Brewery flight comes with a color coded sheet that not only lists the beers’ names, but it also provides some information on the beer.  A com was that the flight was served in plastic cups as opposed to glasses.
The beer was an extreme disappointment for me.  I thought the summer ale was horrible.  I know that taste is a matter of opinion and I have seen other people that loved it, but for me, it just was not good.  In fact, I had a flight of six beers and five of them were less than average.  The rye was the only one that was ok for me.  Sadly there were no porters or stouts at all, but this seems to be a trend in the summer in New York breweries.

When I arrived, the brewery was slammed with a big gathering at the bar.  On top of that, most everyone was ordering flights of beer which certainly takes longer to prepare than serving up flights.  However, with that being said, the beertender was superb, kept the beer flowing and tended to everyone.  When I finally got my order in, he asked where I was sitting and made sure to run my flight out from the bar out to my “table”.  He was very accommodating and friendly.  He felt bad that one of my pours was not sufficient so he provided a sixth beer to my flight.
